Dr Andreas Ludwig is a researcher at the Centre for Contemporary History in Potsdam. He received his Ph.D. in history from the Technical University of Berlin with dissertation on modern urban history in 2000 (titled: “Soziale Stiftungen in der Urbanisierung: Charlottenburg 1800-1924”). 

During his career he worked in many projects at Berliner Geschichtswerkstatt as well as at the Technical University of Berlin in the DFG project “Die Stadt als Dienstleistungszentrum”. He led the Museum Charlottenburg-Wilmerdorf in Berlin and the Documentation Centre of Everyday Culture of the GDR in Eisenhüttenstadt. He lectures at the European University Viadrina and other universities. 

His main fields of research are material culture and museumization.
