Joanna Staśkiewicz

This doctor thesis intends to close a gap in research on the Polish women's movement under the aspect of Catholicism. The Catholic Church and the national myths and traditions exerted a significant influence on the issue of women´s rightsand the development of the women's movement in Poland. The finding of the causes for the lack of a Catholic women's movement and the search for critical women in the Catholic Church in Poland are goals of thiswork.

In the winter semester 2009/10 an winter semester 2016/17 lecturer at the Europa-Universität Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). After studying social sciences at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, work experience at the NGO OWEN e.V. which is committed to the empowerment of women and peace in conflict regions such as the Caucasus and also at employment agency and employment service.
