In direct reference to its research focus, the Center pursues the strategy of making the content of Polish and East-Central European studies an integral part of as many study programs as possible at the Viadrina. Therefore, courses are generally offered in three languages (German, Polish, English) and are aimed at students of all three faculties at all qualification levels - BA, MA and PhD.

The Center uses various methods to impart detailed knowledge of Poland in the sense of Area Studies, solid methodological expertise from different disciplines, and language skills on an academic level. Excursions to the region - e.g., places of migration or historical borderlines - complement the teaching offered on-site.

A central teaching element is the research-oriented ZIP Summer School on Regional Studies - designed for academically experienced students and doctoral candidates - with intensive language learning in Polish and international experts.
